About Steve Freitag

I grew up under strong biblical teaching near Lake Geneva, WI.  Gratefully, everyone in my immediate family trusted Christ before I graduated high school.  I attended Moody Bible Institute from 1985-1988 and the University of Wisconsin from 1989-1990.  I've received a degree in Pastoral Studies with an emphasis in Christian Education.  Currently I am in a holding pattern with pursuing a Master of Arts and Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.

I've been living in the Madison area since 1989 and have been in ministry here since being married to Jenni in 1991.  We have three children together.  My ministry experience includes several ministries while at bible school, including serving as the Student Chaplain.  I've been a Pastoral Intern, co-founded a teen ministry, Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor.  I was ordained in 1999.  I have been with CrossCounsel since 2000 and the Executive Director since 2003.

I recognize that the Lord uses several different means to bring about growth and maturity in His people.  Yet in my experience, I have not seen any approach that comes near the depths of changing hearts and minds so quickly and effectively as Theophostic Prayer Ministry®.  Several of our critics at the beginning have come to understand this as they have seen this ministry proven out over the course of these past many years.
