Statement of Faith

1. There is but one God in heaven (Deuteronomy 6:4), existing as three coeternal Persons - God the Father, Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19) - to whom every human being is accountable and responsible (Romans 14:10). This triune God is perfect in both love and holiness (I John 4:8) (1 Peter 1:15).

2. The Bible is God's inspired, accurate and compete revelation of redemptive truth which is both timeless and binding upon all humanity (II Timothy 3:16-17) (II Peter 1:20-21).

3. Jesus Christ, God's unique Son, though eternally and fully God, became truly human and lived on earth as a man in order to become the source of our salvation. (Galatians 4:4) (Romans 9:5) (1 John 4:2).

4. The Bible accurately declares that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Matthew
1:22-23), lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), was sacrificed on the cross for our sins (I Peter 3:18), rose bodily from the grave in resurrection triumph (Romans 1:4), is now ascended to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19) (Acts 7:55), and will one day return to earth to judge both the living and the dead (II Timothy 4:1).

5. Man is naturally selfish and sinful (Ephesians 2:1-3), separated from God (Isaiah 59:2), and completely unable to save himself through good deeds and religious rites (Titus 3:5) (Isaiah 64:6).

6. Our salvation was made possible through the saving work of Jesus Christ who was crucified on the cross as our sin bearer and who rose again from the dead as the source of our new life (II Corinthians 5:21) (Romans 6:4,11).

7. We are justified (pardoned from all our sins) through personal faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9) (Romans 3;24-25), at a point in time called conversion, and therefore, can know the genuine assurance of both sins forgiven and new life, in Christ (Romans 5: 1)(Romans 8:1).

I am also in agreement with the statement of faith of my home church, Mad City Church.
