Can You Tell Me More About Transformational Prayer Ministry?
God has been transforming lives since the very beginning of creation. He has done this in various ways. We do not believe we have a corner on Christ-centered, biblical transformation. We are in favor of any approach that allows the Spirit of Christ to freely work in people's hearts and minds.
Transformational Prayer Ministry (TPM) is an intentional form of prayer that we use because it results in authentic and lasting change for those who enter into the process fully. This process, which was first developed in 1996, invites God's light to shine into the darkness of our past experiences and the beliefs embedded there.
The process continues to be sharpened. We seek to be open to God's teaching and more effective ways to minister. We are committed to help you have an authentic encounter with the presence of Christ, resulting in mind renewal and a subsequently transformed life. As this changes each person who engages in the process, it cannot help but CHANGE GENERATIONS that follow.
What Makes Your Approach Different?
There are many things that make our approach different. We hope that the explanations of our ministry and approach on other pages has already helped you see the distinction between what we do and other approaches. If there is anything we hope to communicate, it is that there is a tremendous difference between logical understanding and experiential truth. "The Big Picture" page is essential to understand in the long run, though not important when initially coming for ministry.
We have seen the Lord work powerfully in ways that can only be explained by His intervention. His Spirit gives us what our own self-effort or the Law never could.
There are many ministries doing good work in the area of healing. CrossCounsel may not be the path that the Lord is calling you to. However, we encourage those who are searching for healing, mind renewal, and transformation to find a place that knows:
The critical role emotions play in our walk with God >>> they are a barometer in our maturity.
How to define biblical transformation >>> miraculous freedom vs. controlled behavior (that leads to pride and denial).
The difference between intellectual forgiveness, and a heart that freely releases those who have hurt us.
Are Sessions Facilitated by Certified Counselors?
No, none of our current facilitators are licensed counselors at this time. However, we all have committed to countless hours of professional training and always seek to present ourselves in a professional and friendly manner.
We have had several licensed counselors participate in our classes. The vast majority, if not all, have been impressed at the balance of understanding the mind, valuing the individuals free will and the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit. Some of these certified counselors actually seek ministry from CrossCounsel as their preferred choice in dealing with their personal issues and journey with Jesus.
Do You Charge for Ministry Sessions?
Every CrossCounsel facilitator (Expert or Advanced) is professionally trained and has invested substantial time and personal finances into continuing education and facilitator training. Each facilitator at CrossCounsel has made significant sacrifices to be in this position.
Therefore, we are not asking ministry recipients to do anything we have not done. Much thought and prayer has gone into the current policies we have in place to financially sustain CrossCounsel. We also believe that when a person "has skin in the game" they take it more seriously. This generally has resulted in more productive sessions.
The donation amount requested for an individual session depends on each facilitator's level of expertise, but ranges from a minimum of $50-$100 per session. No one is turned away simply for an inability (not unwillingness) to contribute financially.
More information on this is covered in our "I'm Ready" tab and in our Hold Harmless Agreement in our Info Packet.
How Many Sessions Are Required?
We don't require a specific number of sessions. However, from our years of experience, we recommend clients complete 3-5 sessions before evaluating their progress and deciding whether or not to continue.
We hope that people view this as a continual process of mind renewal and growth. History has shown us that those who benefit the most commit to scheduling sessions on a regular basis. Many of those people take the next step and join us for classes and training. This serves to bring about even more transformation and deeper understanding of how God desires to reveal His heart to us and how He wants us to love one another.
Transformational Prayer Ministry is not primarily about feeling better, it is about allowing the Lord to bring His Truth to your heart and mind. When that happens, you will feel better as you become more free, whole and mature in your walk with Him. It becomes a new way of life: a new way of interacting with the Lord and those around you.
